I emailed the link to my loving husband, hinting that I thought it was pretty. I let him know it was pink, which I never wear, and since he loves me in pink I would really be compromising with him, but I am willing to take the hit. As long as he is happy, I too can be happy.
This is the email I get back from him...
Brittany,
You do look very pretty in pink, but I want to protect you from harm. Please read the scriptures below...
2 Nephi 13: 16-24
16 Moreover, the Lord saith: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched-forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet—
17 Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discover their secret parts.
18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments, and cauls, and round tires like the moon;
19 The chains and the bracelets, and the mufflers;
20 The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the ear-rings;
21 The rings, and nose jewels;
22 The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping-pins;
23 The glasses, and the fine linen, and hoods, and the veils.
24 And it shall come to pass, instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle, a rent; and instead of well set hair, baldness; and instead of a stomacher, a girding of sackcloth; burning instead of beauty.
I want to keep you safe because I love you, although your pink necklace is very pretty, I would rather have you smell sweet. Love you!!
Do you ladies see what I live with? Although he thought he was smart and outwitting me, I quickly regrouped. I searched the web and found these 3 pictures.

I let him know I found the perfect solution. Apparently, pearl necklaces were ok by Sister Hinckley, Siter Beck (General Relief Society President), and Sister Lant (General Primary President). Therefore here is a link to a strand of pearls. Notice the price difference? I have yet to hear back from him..we will have to see what he decides.

Too funny! What a smart alek ;)
I do have to point out to Todd that this detailed scripture mentions many types of "ornaments" specifically. I do not find one reference in that detailed scripture to either "pink" or "necklace". This dainty and lovely accessory could not be mistaken for a "chain"....a chain is way bigger and heavy, right? I think between the pearl detailing around the necks of very respectable LDS women, and the lack of solid evidence against beautiful things that are "pink" or "necklaces", you can still smell sweet and look pretty. Way too fun.
Uh oh....then I'm in trouble. Looks like I'm going to be pretty stanky. That is hysterical. I'll buy it for you!
