Aww Saturdays...

I love Saturdays!!!

Recently, (with Todd's new job) we have been putting off all of our chores until Saturday and therefore our Saturday's have been jammed packed! We have had no time to do the fun things that we like to do, well no more!! This past Saturday we decided to live it up. We made plans to fill our Saturday with fun activities!!

We woke up and went to the temple. I know what you are thinking, "you guys go every Saturday, so how is this any different?" I will tell you, we went to the Bountiful temple!! I have never been so excited to go the temple. When I first moved out here to Utah I fell in love with the Bountiful temple. Todd and I went on one of our first dates to that temple, and ever since I have wanted to go back. It was everything I had hoped for, what a gorgeous temple!!!

Then we went shopping around at camping stores where we almost bought another dog. He was an adorable miniature schnauzer puppy. We had three names picked out...1-Leonard 2-Captain Geech (name that movie) and finally 3-Toby. Luckily we came to our senses and walked away!!

Then we rented 3 movies and had a mini movie marathon...
First- Dan in Real Life
Second- Juno
Third- Enchanted (awesome awesome movie)

The night was amazing we stayed up until midnight (huge feat for us), we danced, had a runway show, and even ate cotton candy. It was a wonderful night!!!!

Are you kidding...

There are three things in this life that I will NOT be stingy on, everywhere else I will happily go with off brand names or generic brands, but when it comes to these three things I shell out the extra couple bucks.

1. Quilted Northern toilet paper (Charmin's commercials creep me out, there is something not right with those bears. I mean why are they naked and talking about potty time, and the way that little girl bear rubs her bum against that tree...YUCK!! So I will gladly pay extra for Quilted Northern)
2. Lady Toiletries (cardboard is no go...need I say more??)

and finally....

3. Cereal. There is something refreshing about waking up and having good cereal to eat. If its not a grapefruit morning then it is definitely a Great Grains morning...

This morning I was excited to open my new box from Sams and pour a bowl of cereal. With great anticipation I ripped open the box and this is what I found...


Are you kidding me?? I paid good money for this big box. I mean this isn't some $5 box of Lucky Charms or even Life. This is good, healthy, all natural Great Grains!!!

I sent a picture into their corporate offices asking for half of my money back. If you advertise a big box and big bag, but when I open it there is only half there, its only natural I ask for half of my money back!!! I am no sucker here...I am a Browning and Brownings are not pushed around. If they aren't careful I may have to stick my Aunt Tawni on them. And trust me I am a peach when it comes to bargains and deal making, I am doing them a favor by dealing with me instead of Tawni.

I guess with all of this and the frustration that I felt, I am wondering, is this normal?? Did I overreact, did I lash out when I shouldn't have, should I just take it and realize this is life, get used to it Brittany, false advertising...what are your thoughts? Am I crazy...

Challenge

With the trek approaching, I have finally come to grips with the idea of me going. I am no longer in denial and am ready to make my preparations. I am going to attempt to sew my own outfit and scripture bag, and I am in need of getting into shape.

Today, Kaylee and I went for our second run. I have mapped out a mile long stretch and have ran it twice now. I am hoping to run one mile three times a week. Now ask anyone who has attempted to get me into shape and they will unanimously tell you that this is going to be no easy task, but I am dedicated to doing it now.

On the trek my responsibility is going to be"pep talking the stragglers", and I can not do that if I myself am complaining and regretting the decision to be there.

So here we go, Kaylee and I are going to get into shape. I am hoping that some one out there is trying to accomplish something, and we can do it together. So I am proposing that in your minds you think of something you want to do, but have never seemed to have the discipline to do, and give it an honest try these next couple weeks. I think they say it takes 21 consecutive days to form a habit, so for the next 21 days lets make it happen. I will let you know in 10 days how I am doing, and hopefully we will both be making progress.

47 and lovin it!!!!

47 degrees, this is the warmest it has been in a long time and we are taking advantage of it. The sun is shining and the weather is perfect!! Hopefully the weather will only get better, and we will be able to pull out Punkin for a ride next weekend!!!

Here I am sporting the first capris of the season, and yes I am wearing glasses. I now have to wear glasses while on the computer or reading. (I don't want to hear it Maegan and Jeff)
Here's Todd working in the yard for the first time this season. We are mapping out where we want grass, plants, and even my very own garden!!! Todd is leveling off the dirt so we can plant sod or seed.

**We are well aware at the silliness in this blog, but we can't help it. We have had cabin fever and wanted out of the house!!**

Almost there...

Two more weeks and I am done with school!! I could not be happier, just think no more math in two weeks!!! I can not wait!!!!

My goodness this was the best weekend EVER!! I hope everyone caught General Conference this past weekend. President Monson said it best when he said, "I don't think I have ever been so spiritually fulfilled from any other conference". This was an awesome conference and I feel so blessed to have experienced one session in person.

First, let me start off by saying that I truly believe that growing up outside of Utah has prepared me to live here now. I feel so blessed to live in such a wonderful community, and have so many blessings that I didn't have growing up, so readily available to me now. (If you know me at all you know that that is a pretty bold statement for me to make) I have had the pleasure of hearing two wonderful prophets speak in person, and we have had the chance to visit 5 different temples in the past 6 months.

A couple of months ago it was our Regional conference and our ward was invited to hear the talks in the conference center. I lied to Todd and told him it started an hour earlier than it did, so we could get better seats. We were four rows from the front and I got to witness the spirit of President Hinckley first hand. When President Hinckley walked into a room you could feel his personality and sweet spirit immediately. When he spoke you could feel his love for you and clearly see his "aura" as Todd would say. We got to hear from him as well as President Packer that day, and we truly felt like it could not get not get any better.

Well this Saturday Todd and I got to raise ours hands to the square and sustain President Monson from our home. It was a wonderful experience and something I will never forget. Then to top it all off, we got to go to the Sunday morning session. Again I tricked Todd into getting there early and we got great seats. We were first row and center on the balcony. We had a clear shot of the pulpit and eagerly awaited the session to begin. (we were in our seats 2 and a half hours before it started) When President Monson walked into the room I knew I was in the presence of a man who was not only worthy of being our prophet, but one who was willing to be to serve as our prophet. His spirit radiated and filled the room instantly, and you could see the glow that surrounded him. He is an amazing man and I could not only feel but I could see his love for our Savior as he sat there and listened to the Spoken Word. When he spoke I felt like I was witnessing something amazing, and something I will never forget. I am so glad that I had the chance to see him and the other apostles and speakers speak. Sunday morning was my favorite session this General Conference, with the exception of Elder Jeffrey R Hollands talk Sunday afternoon.

Guys I am so thankful that Todd and I moved back here to Utah. I have never been so spiritually fulfilled as well and spiritually challenged in my life. This was the best weekend of all time. I wish there were a hall big enough to fill everyone into, so that everyone could experience the experience Todd and I had this Sunday. President Monson is clearly and without a doubt in my mind the best man to fill the shoes of the prophet in these "perilous" times.
